The Dudok Quartet

We are delighted to announce that for our 2023 season we will be partnered by the world-famous  Dudok Quartet from Amsterdam who will join with international violinist Ishani Bhoola and accompanist Jennifer Carter in providing a week of world-class instruction.

This is your chance to join like-minded enthusiasts for one-on-one mentoring with a world-renowned Quartet during a week-long break in France’s idyllic Dordogne.

To top it all you can experience the thrill of being a professional musician by playing with them in a public concert at the end of your stay.

The IIMA has teamed up with the Dudok Quartet to provide a complete package that includes private accommodation in a splendid manor house, dining in fine restaurants specialising in the famous gastronomy of the Perigord region and a week in the company of quartet members.

You will be able to get to know some of the world’s greatest strings players in an informal setting, take part in individual and group tuition including chamber orchestra participation and rehearsing for a live concert, as well as enjoy wine-tasting trips to local vineyards and spectacular castles and bastide villages.

The Academy is set in the exceptional medieval village of Issigeac, just 20 minutes south of the town of Bergerac and budget airline links to the UK.

With its renaissance Bishop’s Palace, 12th Century stone ramparts and beautifully preserved medieval houses, Issigeac is a rare gem within the area of the Bergerac appellation vineyards.

During the week the Dudok Quartet will be playing two public concerts in Issigeac’s Maison des Services. The ensemble will also stage a free concert open to the public with the participation of IIMA guests wishing to take part. Ishani Bhoola and Jennifer Carter will also give a recital.
